I will lecture on “Ibsen’s Late Style” at Litteraturhuset in Oslo on Sunday November 3, at 15:00. I see from the program that I’ll be speaking just before Dag Solstad discusses his new novel. I am really looking forward to hearing him! Also, my talk is a Norwegian version of a brand new paper I have written on Ibsen’s last four plays, which I don’t write much about in my book on Ibsen, Henrik Ibsen and the Birth of Modernism (Norwegian translation: Ibsens modernisme).
On Saturday 2 November, I’ll be discussing literature with John Freeman and Mircea Cartarescu. The discussion will be chaired by Erica Wagner. All this at the Literature House in Oslo, at 6:00 p.m. (or 18:00 if you prefer!). This event is part of the Literature House’s fascinating Symposium 2013.
On Thursday 31 October I’ll have the pleasure of discussing literature and writing with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Sofi Oksanen at Litteraturhuset at 20.00. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn how two young women writers view the place of writing in the world today.
